USA Today reported on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 that Amtrak has set a new record for the number of passengers carried during the week of Thanksgiving. The train reportedly carried 685,876 passengers between November 24 - 30, and 127,577 on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
