Tracing its roots back to 1971, the Michigan's only professional Ballet Company consists of thirteen full time dancers and two apprentices, and the School has an enrollment of over 250 students. The Company presents three main stage productions each season at DeVos Performance Hall, as well as half a dozen additional performances at the GRBC Studio and Forest Hills Fine Arts Center. In 1998 the company added Emmy-nominated choreographer Gordon Pierce Schmidt as Artistic Director, and the Ballet has received rave reviews for multiple shows, including two special collaborations with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.
